A six-month-old child was taken to hospital yesterday after a call from a nursery in Mariakerke, on the outskirts of Ghent. The child is in critical condition. This morning, the prosecution, the examining magistrate, the medical examiner, the laboratory and the judicial police went on site, reports the Flemish media.
The nursery was raided and closed down. Three people were arrested. The prosecution declined to provide further information at this time. This morning, the parents received an e-mail stating that “the daycare has been exceptionally closed today by Kind & Gezin”.
