Three years in prison and revocation of driver’s license for the suspect in the Suez Road incident

The Cairo Criminal Court, held in the Fifth Settlement, headed by Counselor Atef Rizk, decided today, Sunday, to punish Ahmed Gamal Farghali (Director of Grievances Department at Port Said University – who is in pretrial detention) for accusing him of the case known in the media as “the owner of the Suez Road incident”, with 3 years in prison and a fine of 50 thousand pounds. Counselor Hamada Al-Sawy, the Public Prosecutor, had previously referred the accused to the criminal trial before the Criminal Court at the conclusion of the investigations conducted with him with the knowledge of the Public Prosecution, which was charged with committing 3 crimes represented in possession with the intent to abuse the substance (tramadol) in cases other than those authorized by law, and that He was arrested with intent to use two narcotic substances (amphetamine and methamphetamine) in cases other than those authorized by law, and driving a vehicle (an angel’s car) recklessly and without caution if he was under the influence of narcotics, the subject of the second accusation, on the Cairo-Suez road.

The list of evidence in the case included the testimony of 4 witnesses, as well as what was proven in the report of the central laboratories of the Forensic Medicine Authority that the samples taken from the accused indicated that he had used the substance of the drugs, amphetamine and methamphetamine, which are listed in the first schedule of the Drug Control Law.

It was also proven in the chemical lab report that the seizures included tramadol, the aforementioned narcotics and a drug of abuse, in addition to the video clip circulating on social media, where the accused was driving a car in a condition indicating that he was under the influence of a drug that would endanger the lives of passersby.
