The flag was hoisted at Thrissur Pooram after the rain and the fireworks left. This year’s festivities came to an end when the majestic horns of the Thiruvambadi-Paramekavu Bhagavathy were exchanged at the Sree Moolasthanam of the Vadakkumnath Temple. The next Pooram will be on April 30, 2023.

The Paramekavu faction and the Thiruvambadi faction started the uprising from Manikandanal pandal and Thiruvambadi faction from Naikkanal pandal at 8 am on Wednesday. Peruvanam Kuttanmararum and Kizhakkuttu-Aniyanmararum led by Melaperukkam again. Umbrellas were unfurled for the mourners. As the uprisings advanced towards Vadakkunnathan’s Sreemoolasthanam, the crowd also increased. Thiruvambadi Chandrasekharan and Ernakulam Sivakumar were the ones who greeted Kolamenti at Sreemoolasthanam.

A small shot after greeting. The firing of Paramekka and Thiruvambadi started at 2.40 pm. After the fireworks display, the majesty of gunfire and lightning shook the city. Umbrellas spread in the sky. Then Paramekavu and Thiruvambadi returned to the temples with Nagaswaram and Panchavadyam. Elephants and herdsmen hoisted flags at the temples. Poora lovers returned home after drinking Poorakanji.

On Tuesday night, due to heavy rain, the nightly wake-up call of Ghatakpuram was out of sync. Many of the constituents could not complete the mela. But on the night of Paramekavu, the panchavadyam filled the temple with sweets of authenticity.
