Fuel, gas, electricity, fuel oil: we are flying from record to record. The citizen is in despair: why does the government not intervene?
This time, we must take out the bazooka measures against energy prices. It is the most serious crisis for 50 years, since the oil crisis of 1973. It is aggravated by what is happening in Ukraine. We already have a social crisis, but if we don’t intervene, we will head towards a major crisis.
What do we do then? For those who have to fill their car tank to go to work?
We only know how to do one thing: lower the excise duties, which would reduce the price by around 30 cents per litre, so by €15 to €20 on a full tank. The draft royal decree is on the government table. What are we waiting for? The Prime Minister is at the European summit in Versailles, okay, but we have to meet as soon as possible, this weekend and decide. This must be visible at the pump on Monday or Tuesday.
