ACTRESS Tissa Biani also has a high social spirit. This was proven when she volunteered in the Independence Package Sharing event and Supported the Deaf Reciting Program for the 79th Anniversary of Indonesia at the YKDW 02 Special School in Tangerang, mid-August 2024.

“Volunteering to support the deaf friends’ Quran reading program at the YKDW 02 Tangerang Special School. Thank you @daarul_quran for this event..,” wrote Tissa in the caption on her personal Instagram Story.

She is grateful to be able to meet deaf friends who have the spirit to learn and memorize the Qur’an despite their limitations. Tissa is also very happy to be able to practice directly reading the Al-Fatihah letter with the sign language of the Qur’an.

“So it’s true that the children here, despite their limitations, are very good at learning sign language. For me personally, it’s difficult and requires training several times, or maybe I can’t. But they can master it, they’re happy and very moved litanya,” said Tissa.

The Principal of YKDW 02 Tangerang Special School, Mulyati, expressed her gratitude to Laznas PPPA Daarul Qur’an, Tissa Biani, representatives of the Tangerang city government, and all the artists who were present for providing attention and motivation to the deaf survivor students to be enthusiastic in learning and memorizing the Al-Qur’an.

“Thank you to PPPA Daarul Qur’an for giving our children the opportunity to study the Quran and socialize more widely. Also, Kak Tissa Biani who gave us all motivation, hopefully it can make us better people,” he hoped.

The President Director of Laznas PPPA Daarul Qur’an, Dwi Kartika Ningsih, said that since 2023, the Deaf Mengaji program has been implemented with the Yogyakarta Deaf Muslim Community (Mulia) and was officially launched in 17 provinces during the 17th Anniversary Celebration of Laznas PPPA Daarul Qur’an at the end of March 2024.

Through this program, said Dwi, his institution is trying to produce teachers of the Signed Quran, provide learning of the Signed Quran for deaf friends and provide the Signed Quran. The Deaf Mengaji program is expected to be able to target 17,000 beneficiaries in the next two years.

“Of course, this program will not run without the support of donors. Hopefully, this Tuli Mengaji program can be a way for deaf friends to achieve a bright future through the means of the Qur’an and be a blessing for all parties who support every effort and activity,” said Dwi. (Z-1)
