A strange tragedy experienced by an Egyptian family due to a strange and rare disease that afflicted her daughter and made her live in iron chains for 10 years to avoid her death.
An Egyptian mother resorted in the city of Mataria, in the Dakahlia Governorate, in northern Egypt, to chain her daughter with an iron chain in her home because she suffers from a brain disease that causes her to have complete excessive movement and makes her try to kill herself and harm herself and others.

For her part, Khadija Muhammad, the child’s mother, told Al-Arabiya.net that her 18-year-old daughter had a disease several years after her birth, and after a medical examination it was found that she was suffering from severe hyperactivity, and she tried to commit suicide more than once, whether by throwing herself into the water. She said that in order to save her daughter and avoid her death, she decided to chain her with iron chains and feed her while she was in this condition, noting that the daughter tried to kill her brothers, and she had bouts of screaming, after which she had to try to knock her head against the walls.
The mother called on doctors to find a solution to her daughter’s tragedy, as all methods and means of treatment failed with her, noting that death besieged her from every side, and her daughter’s illness nearly destroyed her entire family.
