(PLO)- The National Assembly Standing Committee decided to convene the 3rd Extraordinary Session of the 15th National Assembly to consider and decide on personnel work within the competence of the National Assembly.
Last night, January 17, the Secretary General of the National Assembly issued a press release on the expected program of the 3rd Extraordinary Session of the XV National Assembly.
Specifically, based on the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Law on Organization of the National Assembly 2014 has been amended and supplemented with a number of articles according to the Law on Organization of the National Assembly 2020 and the Regulations of the 2015 National Assembly session. The Standing Committee of the National Assembly decided to convene the 3rd Extraordinary Session of the 15th National Assembly to consider the contents of personnel work within the competence of the National Assembly.
It is expected that the 3rd Extraordinary Session, the XV National Assembly will take place this afternoon.

Earlier, also on the afternoon of January 17, the 13th Party Central Committee held a meeting to consider and give opinions on the desire to stop holding positions, leave work and retire from Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, member of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Politician, Member of the 13th Party Central Committee, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council for the 2021-2026 term.
Based on the current regulations of the Party and State and considering the wishes of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Party Central Committee has agreed to let Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc stop holding the positions of Politburo member, member of the Executive Committee. Executive Committee of the 13th Party Central Committee, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council for the term 2021-2026.
The Party Central Committee assigned the Politburo to direct relevant agencies to implement the prescribed procedures.
