JR Tokai will implement a timetable revision on March 18, 2023. The time required for 19 regular “Nozomi” trains on the Tokaido Shinkansen will be shortened by 3 minutes.

As a result, the number of regular “Nozomi” trains that run between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka in 2 hours and 27 minutes will increase by a total of 17, and the inbound regular “Nozomi” trains in the early morning and late-night hours will be speeded up, increasing the number of trains between Shin-Osaka and Tokyo. The required time will be accelerated to “2 hours and 24 minutes”.

In addition, the average travel time between Tokyo and Himeji/Okayama/Hiroshima on regular “Nozomi” will be shortened by 1 to 2 minutes, and all “Nozomi”, including temporary ones, will operate within four hours between Tokyo and Hiroshima.
