Topman Just Eat Takeaway invests in Dutch producer of cultured meat | NOW

Cultivated meat producer Mosa Meat has recently raised 10 million euros in investments. Among others, top executive Jitse Groen of meal delivery company Just Eat Takeaway, the company behind, decided to invest in Mosa Meat, as did fish and animal feed manufacturer Nutreco.

Food technology company Mosa Meat was founded in 2016 in the Netherlands and focuses on the development of cultured meat, by allowing it to grow naturally from the cells of a cow. According to the founders, this production method is better for people, animals and the planet.

The recent investments are part of a larger investment round, which raised a total of 85 million euros. The company wants to use the money to expand its production facility in Maastricht and invest in more personnel.

Groen has been involved with the cultured meat producer for some time. In September last year, it became clear that he is one of the company’s shareholders. In the past, biotechnology company Merck also invested in Mosa Meat.
