Tour of Flanders – Huge fall… Van Aert and Alaphilippe on the ground!

Enormous collective fall on the Tour of Flanders 2023 ! 140 kilometers from the finish, i.e. the approach to Vieux Quaremont, several riders fell in the peloton, including the former winner Peter Sagan (Team TotalEnergies), Jasper Stuven (Trek-Segafredo), Neilson Powless (EF Education-EasyPost) and above all… the French Julian Alaphillippe (Soudal-Quick Step). The runner of Wolfpack was particularly affected in the left leg. Wout Van Aert (Team Jumbo-Visma) was also caught in the collective fall but he quickly got back on his bike, unlike Tim Wellens (UAE Team Emirates) who was forced to retire. Peter Sagan, Ben Turner (INEOS Grenadiers) et Oier Lazkano (Movistar Team) also withdrew following this fall which was caused by Filip Maciejuk (Bahrain-Victorious). Le Pole slipped on the grass trying to get back to the top positions.
