On Tuesday, November 17, 2020, a pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries in a traffic accident on Gotthardstrasse in Ibach.
Shortly after 6 p.m. today, an 88-year-old crossed the street on the pedestrian crossing by the old school building. He was hit by a passenger car approaching from Schwyz. The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision. After initial medical care by the rescue service, the casualty was flown by the air-rescue to a hospital outside the canton. The 21-year-old driver was uninjured. The casualty died in the hospital on Thursday, November 19, 2020.
Gotthardstrasse must remain closed until around 9:15 p.m. to take care of the injured person and to secure evidence.
