Last Wednesday, the lifeless body of a 22-year-old young woman was discovered, quai Jules Destrée, on the border between Flémalle and Jemeppe. Marina, from Beyne-Heusay, was not breathing.

She was on the stairs at the foot of which a handful of homeless people gather. The intervention of the emergency services was in vain. Marina’s heart had stopped beating.
It was on this staircase that Marina’s lifeless body was discovered. -AB
The Flémalle police and the Liège public prosecutor’s office have been notified. The findings did not reveal any intervention by a third party, the death was therefore qualified as “natural death”. But now, losing a 22-year-old girl is hard to accept…
Friday evening, Natalie, Marina’s mother, received us in the funeral home of Dumont-Giltay & Fils de Tilleur. Collapsed but dignified, she, in a few minutes, retraced the course of her daughter’s life. She also explained to us all the difficulties she faced for nearly 15 years.
