The representatives of the lawyers constituted in the trial of the events of September 28, 2009 which is held at the criminal court of Dixinn relocated to the Conakry Court of Appeal, decided this Monday, May 29, 2023, to suspend their participation in this trial until satisfaction of their demands.
“We regret to inform you of the suspension of our participation in the trial of the events of September 28, 2009”, can we read in a letter addressed to the court.
This decision is consecutive to “the dissatisfaction” they say of their demands recorded in the letter dated May 17, 2023, addressed to the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals and Human Rights, in his capacity as President of the Steering Committee for the organization of the trial of the events of September 28, 2009, Alphonse Charles Wright. “In the said letter, we had requested, without success, the improvement of our working conditions and the obtaining of legal aid in accordance with the provisions of article 12 paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Ordinary Law of September 23, 2022, providing legal aid,” explained the lawyers.
It is obvious that the trial of September 28 will not be held this Monday, May 29, 2023. It remains to be seen until when this will last.
