The president of the Brussels Assize Court responsible for judging the attacks committed in the capital on March 22, 2016, Laurence Massart, suspended the trial on Monday morning after the death of a defense lawyer, Me Sébastien Courtoy, during the week off. It will resume on Thursday with the end of the parties’ comments on the presentations of the investigators and investigating judges.
Me Courtoy defended, with Me Michel Degrève, Smail Farisi. A few days are therefore necessary to reorganize the defense team.
The schedule is therefore unchanged for the testimonies of the victims, which will begin next week.
