The President gave his opinion on the Paris climate agreement, from which the US withdrew after his election in 2016.
US President Donald Trump, who regularly pokes fun at the alleged gaffes of his rival Joe Biden, had his own slip on Saturday October 17 by demoting his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, to the rank of “Prime Minister ”.
Campaigning for re-election, Trump made the mistake when he highlighted the achievements of his term during a rally in Michigan.
After referring to the old free trade agreement with Canada and Mexico, which his administration renegotiated, Trump gave his opinion on the Paris climate agreement, from which the United States withdrew after his election in 2016.
“And you know what else I stopped? The environmental agreement of Paris ”, said the President. “I really like Prime Minister Macron. But I said, ‘How’s it going over there? How’s the deal going? It seems not very good, ”he said.
“I saved billions of dollars, no one else would have. I said it was a disaster, what they basically wanted was to take away our wealth, “he said.
The American President and his French counterpart established a close relationship shortly after the election of Emmanuel Macron in 2017, but over time it has deteriorated noticeably.
