The White House should have become a real family business in 2016. Donald Trump (74) wanted to make his daughter Ivanka (38) Vice President. This is what Trump’s former deputy campaign manager Rick Gates (48) wrote in his book “Wicked Games”, which is due to appear on October 13th.
Accordingly, Trump presented his idea in June 2016 when his campaign advisors were discussing who the Republican should nominate as Vice President: “How about Ivanka?” Trump is said to have asked at the time. He is said to have massively promoted her: “She is smart, she is smart, she looks good and people would love her!”
According to Gates, the proposal was more than an obsession. Ivanka Trump, then 34 years old and an entrepreneur, had no political experience at the time.
Ivanka didn’t want to
Trump is said to have insisted on his proposal for several weeks. The personnel has therefore been discussed several times, writes Gates. However, Tim Murtaugh, Trump’s communications manager in the current election campaign, contradicts this.
The discussion is said to have finally come to an end when Ivanka intervened: she had told her father that it was not a good idea to nominate her as vice-president. Only then did Trump decide on Mike Pence (61), who finally made it to Trump’s side as Vice President.
Trump denies all of this. He talked about fake news on Twitter and posted: “Wrong and completely ridiculous. These people are sick! ” (gf)
