While a missing person is being reported in the foreground, an employee of an Australian TV station is watching a film.

In the Australian city of Melbourne, an employee of Channel Nine TV was caught watching a film on his monitor at the channel’s headquarters. However, it was not about a recently released strip, but a classic from the animation genre.

Animated film classics

The employee of the TV station watched the first “Shrek” film. In the 2001 film, Shrek, an ogre, lives contentedly alone in his swamp. But when Lord Farquaad, ruler of a nearby kingdom, banishes all fairytale creatures to Shrek’s swamp, his peace is disturbed. To regain his calm, Shrek makes a pact with Farquaad to rescue Princess Fiona, who is being held captive in a castle guarded by a fire-breathing dragon.

The faux pas was discovered by Tiktok user Alex Goodman, who posted a video of the incident and wrote: “Old mate got little distracted”. However, he hopes that the missing woman, who was reported during the employee’s cinema session, will be found.

«Let us watch extra»

There are many comments under the video celebrating the employee. “He enjoys life” or “He knew exactly what he was doing,” it says. Some even speculate that the employee wanted to show the viewer the film extra: “The fact that he’s sitting next to the monitor makes it even funnier,” reads one comment.

The employee may have also been preparing for the new “Shrek” film: As the British newspaper “metro” writes, the film is officially in the planning stage, according to Dreamworks Animation’s creative partner, Chris Meledandri. It is still unclear which voices will be occupied by which speakers. In the first film, Hollywood greats Cameron Diaz and Eddy Murphy lent their voices to characters in the films.
