After Facebook and LinkedIn, it’s Twitter’s turn to get down to stories. These ephemeral publications, like fragments of lives combining photos, videos or simple post sharing, were first developed by Snapchat before being taken up by Instagram..
Very privileged by users, they have now conquered the blue bird but under another name: the Fleets. Offered since Tuesday to all of its users, these publications which will be visible at the top of the news feed of each profile, are intended to disappear after 24 hours, as is already the case on other networks.. They will also only be visible on the mobile version of the application..
Already tested in India, South Korea and Italy, fleets were designed with the aim of calming the often heated debates that take place on the network. According to the product manager and the creative director of Twitter, thanks to fleets, tweeters would have “more easily joined the conversations”. Its impact in France now remains to be seen.
