According to app options scout Jane Manchun Wong’s tweet, Twitter is developing a new option to gain more control over your audience by preventing people from mentioning you. As can be seen in the tweet, you will have the choice between allowing everyone to mention you or limiting this privilege to people you follow on the app.

This feature has similarities with the one launched last July which allowed you to leave a conversation on Twitter and thus no longer receive notifications about this conversation.
It must be said that the application has deployed in recent months several options to allow users to exchange in a healthier framework with communities or even Twitter circles.
