The Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua carried out this Saturday a virtual day of updating and simultaneous training aimed at the medical community of the state and students, in the I Day of Rehabilitation Medicine that was carried out in coordination with El Colegio of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of Chihuahua.
The first conference was given by DR. Pavel Loeza Magaña who discussed the topic of Introduction to Rehabilitation Medicine; then continued Dr. Ana Belén Aguilar Valencia who spoke about the Importance of exercise as a therapeutic measure.
Dr. Elsa Rojas Román addressed the Oncological Rehabilitation, Cardiac Rehabilitation was presented by Dr. Nayeli Trejo Bahena, while Dr. Susana Avitia Ponce de León explained the Development of the march, Dr. César closed this cycle of conferences Flores Pomposo with the topic Electroneuromyography and evoked potentials.
Likewise, as is customary at 10:00 am, the weekly program “Dialogue between Doctors” was broadcast on the Zoom platform, Radio Universidad and the YouTube page of the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, which in this fifth edition the “Update on the management of Diabetes and Hypertension within the COVID-19 framework.”
This program was coordinated by Dr. Víctor Manuel Gómez Moreno, professor and researcher at the academic unit of the UACH; In which the university doctors participated, Dr. Liliana Chavira Ruiz, Dr. César Enrique Tinoco Ronquillo and Julio César López González, all of them from the Internal Medicine area; in addition to Dr. José Juan Florencio Lozoya Morales of Cardiology, and Dr. Luis Carlos Hinojos Gallardo of Pediatric Pneumology, current director of the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
The UACH specialists mentioned how the chronic degenerative diseases suffered by society is a factor that can aggravate the health picture in case of being infected by the SARS-Cov-2 virus. Mainly what refers to hypertension, uncontrolled diabetes, but also in a preponderant way overweight and obesity as factors that can trigger a patient infected by Covid to get worse.
During this pleasant talk addressed to the medical community of the state, the treatments for patients with mild, moderate and severe symptoms were addressed; diagnostic methods, as well as surveillance and monitoring of patients.
The experts agreed that they are facing a relatively new infection, where there is not much information about the drugs to be administered and that each body reacts differently to the various treatments, which makes medical care very complicated.
Therefore, they called on society not to lower its guard and comply with all hygiene and safety measures that have been repeated ad nauseam to avoid becoming infected with this virus that can be deadly.
