UAE grants $ 1 billion in investments to DRC

Felix Tshisekedi is currently making a fruitful trip to the United Arab Emirates. The Democratic Republic of Congo will benefit from $ 1 billion in investments. The announcement was made on Sunday by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohamed Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane. An envelope that should be invested in particular in the mining sector.

The promised billion dollars is immediately available, according to Mohamed Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane, crown prince of Abu Dhabi. But on one condition: that the projects are clearly identified.

During their meeting, the Emirati leader and President Tshisekedi reviewed investment opportunities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The choice is very wide, between infrastructures, mines, energy, health or even security and defense.

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi has also announced a donation of 30 tactical armored military vehicles. They are intended to support Congo-Kinshasa in the fight against terrorism, particularly in the East. With this donation of military equipment, Félix Tshisekedi hopes to put an end to the security crisis in the eastern provinces, while accelerating his development projects.

And it relies on several bilateral and multilateral partners such as the United Arab Emirates, the United States and the International Monetary Fund. Kinshasa has also recently benefited from budget support from the IMF for an amount of 1.5 billion dollars.
