UAE has signed an agreement with France to buy Rafale fighter jets

Abu Dhabi: UAE signs agreement with France to buy Rafale fighter jets It is planning to buy 80 aircraft. The agreement was signed by the UAE Ministry of Defense.

Rafale is buying the existing Mirage aircraft to replace it as part of the UAE Air Force. Part of the agreement is the training of military personnel.

Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi, Commander-in-Chief of the UAE Air Force and Air Defense, said the UAE was scrutinizing the international market for new possibilities. He said talks with France had reached an agreement to buy Rafale aircraft that were most unsuitable for the UAE’s security and defense.
