The Swiss women’s team will change training ground on Wednesday. Faced with pitch problems at the Rothwell Juniors FC facilities, Nils Nielsen’s players will continue their preparation at the Town Academy Training Ground, Huddersfield.
On the eve of the first training in England, the national team officials noticed a problem with the grass of the facilities planned for their training. The confirmation came at the end of the morning when the players walked the lawn of Rothwell Juniors FC.
“The Right Decision”
“UEFA immediately showed understanding for our request (note: change of terrain) and found a good alternative in a short time“, explained the director of women’s football at ASF Tatjana Haenni in a press release. “We regret that the program is postponed, but we are convinced that it is the right decision“.
The solution found is located south-west of Leeds, half an hour from the residence of the Swiss, in Huddersfield. Gaëlle Thalmann and her teammates will continue their preparation there from Wednesday, at the end of the morning.
