Stumbling appearance of Turkey |
Kuntz embarrassment against Luxembourg
Nobody would have expected that!
The German coach Stefan Kuntz (59) and his Turks are only struggling to an embarrassing 3:3 against the blatant outsider Luxembourg!
It starts off bitterly: After a blatant defensive buck, Turkey goalkeeper Cakir is overtaken by his own defender Eren Elmali, striker Martins only has to insert for the football dwarf.
Violent: The ex-Freiburger Söyüncü (now Leicester) hits the post with family planning when trying to rescue. Ünder equalizes with a penalty after a foul by Chanot (16th).
But the underdog comes back and takes advantage of a defensive mistake by the Turks to make it 2-1 through Sinani (37′) before unlucky Chanot scores in his own goal (39′).
Then the near-sensation: Luxembourg’s Gerson Rodrigues caused Turkey’s shock with the 2: 3 and the almost bitter mega-embarrassing bankruptcy!
But Yüksek equalizes shortly before the end to make it 3:3 for the Kuntz team (87th) and saves the Turks. But the embarrassment remains…
France escapes relegation
World champion France and superstar Kylian Mbappé (23) beat Austria 2-0 and escape direct relegation from League A in the Nations League!
The star striker from Paris St. Germain scores after a mistake by Bayern’s Sabitzer (58th). Giroud put the lid on it with the 2-0 (65th)
Mbappé thus saves the 2018 world champion, who would have been relegated directly if the Ösis went bankrupt.
The relegation final for France against Denmark is on Sunday (8.45 p.m.), Austria must win against leaders Croatia in order not to slip into League B.
Lewandowski misses and loses
Poland’s star striker Robert Lewandowski (34) does not score and loses 2-0 to World Cup participants Holland.
Shock moment right at the beginning: Holland’s Koopmeiners requires lengthy treatment after a clash with Poland’s Linetty in the second minute after kick-off but is able to continue.
Then the Dutchman Gakpo converted a fine combination via Barça star Depay to make it 1-0 (13th). Bergwijn snaps to make it 2-0 (60′).
