US golfers on their way to triumph at the Ryder Cup

Together with Viktor Hovland from Norway, the Austrian led against Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas 3-0 after six holes in Whistling Straits on Saturday, but lost in the end. Europe’s chase to catch up failed altogether, after the 16 doubles the USA were clearly ahead of the decisive twelve individual games yesterday (still in progress when this issue went to press) with 11: 5.

At the 43rd Ryder Cup, postponed by a year due to the pandemic, host USA in Wisconsin was the clear favorite, as they competed with a team in which eight of the twelve players appear in the top ten of the world rankings. With the Spaniard Jon Rahm, Europe had the world number one in the team, but the next best was Hovland only in 14th place.
