He is enthusiastic for the second term, but the political economy environment is too harsh.

“Everyone knows he’s old, but the people around him are afraid to offend him and don’t want to talk about his age.”

It was a story that came out when I was in contact with an acquaintance in Washington the other day.

President Joe Biden will turn 80 in November this year. If he is reelected in the 2024 presidential election, he will be 86 at the end of his term.

Of course, he is the oldest president in US political history. At this point, Biden is said to be positive about reelection.

However, there are many people in the US Democratic Party who feel that they have “waited for a while.”

Even if he is trying to challenge the presidential election for the second term, there are growing voices within the party that he should have a young leader.

Mark Reybovich of the US monthly magazine “Atlantic” simply states:

“Joe Biden shouldn’t run for the 2024 presidential election. He’s too old.”

It is no exaggeration to say that this view now speaks for many Americans.

A joint study released by Harvard University Center for American Political Research and Harris Inside and Analytics on July 1 found that only 29% of voters wanted Biden to be reelected.
