USA-Decline in household morale in January-Michigan

January 15 (Reuters) – US consumer sentiment deteriorated slightly more than expected in January, preliminary results from the University of Michigan’s monthly survey show on Friday.

Its confidence index fell to 79.2 from 80.7 in December as economists and analysts polled by Reuters on average forecast a decline to 80.

The component of consumers’ judgment on their current situation fell to 87.7 from 90.0 the previous month and that of the outlook fell to 73.8 from 74.6.
