Orlando Lands NCAA Tennis Championships for a Decade

The USTA National Campus in Orlando will be the home of the NCAA Division I men’s and women’s tennis championships for the next decade. Starting in 2028, Orlando will host the championships through 2037. This marks the first time the NCAA has awarded the tennis championships to a single venue for multiple years.

Big Plans for USTA National Campus

The USTA has committed to making significant infrastructure improvements to the 64-acre Lake Nona facility in preparation for the event. These enhancements include doubling the number of indoor courts to 12, improving viewing areas, and adding permanent shade structures at
the Collegiate Center, which features 12 outdoor courts. Player amenities and scoring infrastructure will also be upgraded.

“We’ve been cultivating our relationship with the NCAA while working closely with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, athletic administrators and coaches to find out what would make an ideal championship experience,” said a USTA representative.

Raising the Profile of College Tennis

In addition to these upgrades, the USTA has pledged to collaborate with the NCAA to increase the visibility of the championships.

The organization’s goal is emulation of iconic venues like Charles Schwab Field Omaha, home to the College World Series, and Devon Park in Oklahoma City, the site of the Women’s College World Series. “Creating an iconic venue like that appeals to the USTA,” said the representative. “That’s the type of experience we want to provide for these student-athletes.”

The USTA National Campus has hosted the Division I men’s and women’s championships in 2019, 2021, and 2023, demonstrating its capabilities and commitment to collegiate tennis. This long-term partnership solidifies Orlando’s standing as a leading destination for college tennis.
