Vakeró rejects nomination for “Best music video” at the Soberano Awards

The urban artist Vakeró He rejected the nomination made by the Art Chroniclers Association (Acroarte) in the category of “Video Clip of the Year” of the audiovisual production of the song “Man” at the Soberano Awards.

When expressing his disagreement with Acroarte’s decision, which was revealed on Tuesday night in a broadcast through Color Vision, the popular interpreter maintained that the nomination is deserved by others, not him.

“Thank you for your kindness, but I don’t feel comfortable with the nomination, I think other singers deserve that, not me, because I was focused on other things. Thank you for the good intention SOVEREIGN PRIZE ”, he wrote.

In the category of “Video Clip of the Year” there are nominees, in addition to Vakeró “Intermittent Love” by Ilegales, as well as “I have the right” by La Insuperable, “Llórame” by Techy Fatule and “27 messages” by Pencil Conscient / Shadow Blow.

So far, two artists have made public their rejection of their respective nominations in different categories. The first was the master of the dance Carlos Veitía, who was nominated as “Choreographer of the Year” for “Let’s Dance”, a choreography that he does not remember doing between 2019 and 2020, years that the journalistic union is awarding.

The Soberano Awards are sponsored by the Dominican National Brewery. The date of the ceremony is still unknown, although it was anticipated, it would be at the National Theater. The artistic director is René Brea.
