Mathieu Valbuena has announced that he will sign up for an additional season with Olympiakos, where he has been playing for a year. “I got an oral agreement with the president” of the Piraeus club, the player (35) told Mega Channel, owned by club boss Vangelis Marinakis. “We had a discussion about extending my contract for another year, to stay at Olympiakos. I am very proud, very happy,” added the former Marseille player (2006-2014), Dynamo Moscow (2014-2015), Lyon (2015-2017) and Fenerbahçe (2017-2019). French champion with Marseille in 2010, Valbuena wore the France team jersey 52 times between 2010 and 2015. He played 27 matches in the Greek Championship, scored eight goals – from a penalty spot – and addressed 18 assists.
