Vendée Globe: keel and waterway problem for Isabelle Joschke, forced to abandon – Info wire – Vendée Globe

Suffering from new keel problems on her MACSF monohull and the victim of a small waterway, Isabelle Joschke was forced to retire in the Vendée Globe this Saturday. The Franco-German sailor, who is currently at the latitude of Argentina in 30 to 35 knots of wind and in strong and rough seas, took part in her first solo round-the-world race at 43. She was 11e of the rank. There are only four women in the race (Clarisse Crémer, Pip Hare, Miran Merron and Alexia Barrier) after the retirement of Samantha Davies (who continues her world tour out of classification) and therefore Joschke.
