Since September we have the Withings ScanWatch – it will be officially available at the beginning of this year presented. With the latest update (version 1601), the manufacturer is finally introducing the promised breathing mode for the hybrid watch.
It’s been two months since the Withings ScanWatch was launched. After being delayed by the corona pandemic after its presentation, not all features are available yet. The breathing function advertised at the start was still missing. With the Version 1601, which has been around since October 16, but is only now being rolled out here, the function is finally coming.
Inhale & exhale with the Withings ScanWatch
The purpose of the feature is to concentrate fully on your breathing for a minute. Often you are quite hectic in everyday life and breathe too quickly – with this function you should be able to relax and switch off a little better. Unfortunately, the new feature is only available for the Withings ScanWatch and not for the Withings Steel HR Sport (our test on it) available. In order for it to appear on the display after the update, it must be selected in the app. To do this, select “Devices”> ScanWatch> Personal display settings in the app and tick the box next to Breathe.
By tapping the button on the edge you can “scroll” through the functions and then select the breathing feature by clicking again. Then the knob is turned, depending on how many breaths you want to take. After a session, the heart rate is shown on the display. Many doctors recommend six breaths per minute for five minutes three times a day. This method is called “heart coherence” or “cardiac coherence”.
We are already waiting for a test device of the Withings ScanWatch and hope to be able to provide you with a test here on TechnikNews soon.
