“We have agreed to dissolve the contract by mutual agreement,” Kruse parrots the official statement.
And then makes it really exciting: “You guys know me. I’m always good for surprises. So let’s let ourselves be surprised, I don’t want to give any insights yet. I’m taking my time to decide which adventure is next. But one thing will come, I can promise that.”

The attacker is in a good mood and deeply relaxed on his Instagram channel. “It’s not like I’ve been without a club for six months now. The transfer period starts again in a month,” explains Kruse.
“I’m now written healthy and fit, passed all the tests and can start playing football again. That means I’m going to get really fit now.”

On Monday afternoon, VfL announced the termination of the contract. “In open and honest discussions, we agreed that this solution is best for everyone involved. We wish Max all the best on his future path,” said VfL sporting director Marcel Schäfer (38).
According to BILD information, Kruse is said to have received around one million euros in severance pay. His contract originally ran until the end of the season.

Two and a half months ago, head coach Niko Kovac (51) suspended last year’s Olympic participant in consultation with the club bosses. Since then, Kruse has only been allowed to train, but no longer play competitive games.
