(Video) The situation in Ukraine as told by Geun Lee… “I’m sorry I’m alive”

[이데일리 김민정 기자] YouTuber Lee Geun, a former captain of the Navy Special Warfare Team (UDT/SEAL), who participated in the Ukrainian International Volunteer Army, disclosed the situation in the field.

Lee said this while posting several photos and videos on his Instagram on the 25th.

As if conscious of the various criticisms surrounding him, Mr. Lee said, “Did you do my best to swear? I’m sorry I’m alive,” he wrote. Then, he posted a picture of a can of food and said, “Yeah, let’s eat it as a Polish hotel breakfast.”

Lee, who recently announced the news of his injury, is hoping to return to Ukraine after receiving treatment in Korea.

The manager of ‘rokseal’, a YouTube channel run by Mr. Lee, on the 22nd, released a picture of Captain Lee lying on a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine and being tested. MRI is widely used in tomography to check the condition of the patient, such as the central nervous system, head and neck, spine and spinal cord. “Captain Lee Geun’s doctor said the injury was not serious, but he needed intensive treatment and several months of rehabilitation treatment,” said Roxil.

“Captain Lee Geun is hoping to recover from his injuries and return to Ukraine with the permission of the Korean government,” he said.

The Ukrainian International Brigade also said, “He (Mr. Lee) will resume his service soon. “I will come back to protect the Ukrainian people as soon as possible,” he said. “We are looking forward to Ken recovering quickly and returning,” he said.

However, the possibility that Mr. Lee will leave the country as he wishes is low. As soon as his body recovers, he will have to undergo a police investigation first.

Currently, Mr. Lee has been accused of violating the passport law by visiting and staying in Ukraine, a country where travel is prohibited without government permission. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has launched an investigation.

Violation of the passport law by visiting or staying in Ukraine without government permission, where the travel warning level 4 has been issued, can be punished by imprisonment for not more than one year or a fine of not more than 10 million won.

Previously, the two people who left for Ukraine with him on March 6 returned to Korea after 10 days and were investigated by the police for allegedly violating the passport law.

In this regard, Lee said in an interview with Ukrainian media, “If I return to Korea, I will be arrested at the airport for taking part in this war.”
