A total of 122 patents account for the innovative technology applied to the device.
Within the framework of the Oppo Inno Day conference, which was held this Tuesday in Shenzhen (China), the Chinese technology company Oppo unveiled the first phone model with a roll-up screen, the Oppo X 2021. The operation of the equipment is based on a combination of innovative technologies, to the point that manufacturers reported applying for 122 patents throughout the device development process, 12 of which are related to the folding mechanism.
The Oppo X 2021 has two plates that constitute the base of the screen and can be converted into one, larger in size, as well as a flexible OLED panel, with a surface that varies between 6.7 and 7.4 inches and a laminate of high strength allowing it to reach only 0.1mm thick at its thinnest point. Since the screen is not as rigid as the conventional one, a support made up of two parts has been designed: fixed frame on the outside and sliding frame on the inside.
The name of the model could indicate that its mass production would begin next year. However, there is still no official date for its market launch, nor have other technical characteristics or the approximate price been revealed.
