Vodafone: Etisalat’s acquisition of a stake in the parent company does not affect operations in Egypt

Ayman Essam, Head of the External and Government Relations Sector at Vodafone Egypt, said, commenting on the acquisition of Emirates Etisalat Group On 9.8% of Vodafone International, the company in Egypt is concerned with managing operations in the country and is not concerned with the investment decisions of Vodafone International, and this acquisition has no effect on operations in Egypt and the Egyptian market.

The Emirates Telecommunications Group Company, “Etisalat Group”, announced that it had acquired approximately 2.766 million shares from the Vodafone Group, which represents 9.8% of the company’s capital, excluding treasury shares, at a purchase cost of $4.4 billion.

This came in a disclosure from the Emirates Telecommunications Group to the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, and the group said that it had invested in Vodafone with the aim of benefiting from the expertise of the world’s leading company in the field of communications and services.
