Wall Street opens lower on interest rate hike fears

Wall Street opened lower on Friday, as strong July jobs data reinforced fears that the US Federal Reserve will continue the path of sharp interest rate hikes.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 132.92 points, or 0.41 percent, at the open to 32,593.90. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index began trading, down 36.07 points, or 0.87 percent, at 4115.87 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 181.78 points, or 1.43 percent, to 12538.81 points.
