Al-Marsad Newspaper: Obesity and landscape surgery consultant, Dr. Atef Bassas, warned several groups against performing “gastrectomy” operations to treat “obesity”, noting that surgeries are not a trend, but solutions at the end and are regulated.
He said during an interview with the “Yahla” program broadcast on the Gulf Rotana channel: “Sgagging is part and not the only solution to treat obesity, and in obesity operations there are two principles, the first is reducing food and includes (gagging, capsule, balloon, crimping and others).
He continued: There are other operations, which are reducing the absorption of food, and they include diversification operations of all kinds, which exceed 20 operations.
He added: “There are patients such as diabetics, GERD, and those over 50 years of age and the rate of burning in their body is slow. For these people, gagging operations are harmful and not beneficial. For example, a patient who suffers from GERD, if he performs a gagging operation, his life turns into hell.” .”
