How difficult was it for you to switch from a company like SAP with sales of around $ 30 billion recently to ServiceNow with $ 3.5 billion – a good tenth?
That is very easy. So when I started at SAP 17 years ago, the company was also much smaller. In fact, ServiceNow is not that far away from SAP when I started in 2002. That is exactly what suits me: I am someone who builds up. And by the way: We are already the fastest growing cloud provider in the world.
Aren’t you talking a little nice?
No, because you also have to keep in mind the following: If a cloud company like ServiceNow achieves sales of $ 10 billion – and we have already committed to this goal – then the true sales are more than twice as high: That is the backlog of monthly fees to which customers have committed but which have not yet been officially booked. This backlog at ServiceNow is already around $ 7 billion today. This is the magic of a cloud business model that many do not realize.
