Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirms what was to be expected anyway. The FC Bayern executive boss says about the purchase option agreed with FC Barcelona in Philippe Coutinho’s contract: “We didn’t pull it.” According to the current status, the Brazilian will initially return to FC Barcelona for the coming season.
Would the Bavarians want to change anything? Rummenigge at least doesn’t rule it out. The 64-year-old says according to the ‘mirror’: “We will complete the team planning internally and see whether he should continue to play a role with us or not.” The tendency is that Coutinho will play for another club in the future.
The 20-year-old is still under contract with Barça until 2023. But whether he has a future there is more than uncertain. Coach Quique Setién certainly thinks a lot about the skills of the international. At management level, however, Coutinho would rather be turned into money. A sale to England is in the room. Three clubs from the island are said to have officially deposited their interest.
