The list of tournaments without the slightest spectator is still growing in the United States. After the Memorial Tournament (July 16-19) which finally backtracked when it was to be the first PGA Tour tournament to authorize the public, it’s the turn of the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational (July 30 August 2) to officially announce that he will fight behind closed doors because of the Covid-19 pandemic still so virulent on this side of the Atlantic. “We finally felt it was best to host the event without spectators this year,” said Darrell Smith, the tournament’s executive director, who had yet developed a safety plan for a limited number of spectators on the TPC.
