What are the anti-Covid mediators of the ARS Occitanie?

To slow the progression of the Covid-19 epidemic, the ARS Occitanie is strengthening the Test-Alert-Protect strategy and deploying mobile teams of anti-Covid mediators with its local partners in each of the 13 departments of the region. But what will they be used for?

The “Test Alert Protect” strategy is being reinforced very concretely in Occitania, with the deployment on the ground, in each department, of a mobile team of mediators committed to the fight against Covid. Their action is complementary to that of all the actors already mobilized.
Faced with the evolution of the epidemic situation, the objective is to intervene closer to the places of work, study or life, to remind the good reflexes of protection and to multiply the operations of proximity test. These reinforcements will also be mobilized to intervene more quickly in the context of massive screening operations, in support of the search for contact cases or compliance with isolation measures, to break the chains of transmission of the virus.

A mobile team available in each department

The first teams of anti-covid mediators have already been deployed in the region. They rely on the skills of local civil protection partners, the associative sector or SDIS for example, in relation with each departmental delegation of the ARS. Each team of mediators is supervised and trained beforehand to carry out these missions of awareness-raising for the general public, organization of screening tests, or support for the management of grouped cases. Each team is mobile and active in the field all week. It can also be mobilized on weekends in the event of an epidemiological priority.
This system will be quickly put into action in each department in Occitania, to provide operational support to all the partners and actors in the territory (prefectures, communities, education, universities, etc.) when they wish to organize targeted awareness-raising and screening operations in response to the epidemiological priorities of each territory.
By funding the interventions of nearly 120 mediators, l’ARS Occitanie strengthens the means to fight against the circulation of Covid, by intervening massively and quickly in risky situations and towards isolated or troubled populations.
