[Mis à jour le 20 juillet 2021 à 10h43] From July 21, 2021, the health pass becomes compulsory to go to the cinema, in accordance with the announcements made by Emmanuel Macron during his speech on July 12, 2021. To see films released in theaters from Wednesday, such as Kaamelott or Space Jam 2, you will have to provide at least one of the following certificates: a document bearing a QR Code certifying that all the phases of the vaccination have been completed (more than 7 days from the second injection), a negative result a PCR or antigen test of less than 48 hours or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 dating less than 6 months and more than 15 days. Note that the self-tests are not part of the health pass.
For now, these are the only restrictions affecting cinemas with more than 50 people from July 21, 2021. Note that for the time being, no gauge limit has been set for theaters since July 30. Last June, cinemas can therefore accommodate 100% of the public. The rules of distancing are however to be applied. But let us note a relaxation on the wearing of the mask: from July 21, 2021, it is no longer compulsory, but only recommended, since spectators present a health pass. However, wearing a mask may be made compulsory by the prefect of the department, by the operator or the organizer. Find your cinema sessions by clicking on the linkon.

After the first lockdown, the rule about wearing masks in theaters changed several times. From July 21, 2021, wearing a mask will no longer be compulsory but recommended. The reason: spectators must already present a health pass to see films. However, it can be made compulsory by the prefect of the department, the operator or the organization, at the discretion of each. MK2 cinemas let it be known on Twitter that the wearing of a mask remained compulsory within the confines of their establishments and throughout the screening.
From July 21, 2021, the health pass, a new health protocol, is necessary to go to cinemas. Before entering cultural establishments, it is therefore necessary to present either a document proving that the two phases of the vaccination have been validated, or provide a negative PCR or antigen test of less than 48 hours, or prove by means of a medical certificate to have contracted the coronavirus and therefore be immune. The self-tests do not, however, validate the health pass.
