Created in the 1970s, this hero of Chinese origin is an expert in martial arts. Trained in the art of Chinese combat from an early age, comics featuring him generally pit him against his father. The latter is the head of a criminal organization.
In the comics, Shang-Chi is regularly in opposition to his father and his organization. He will find himself working for MI-6, before becoming friends with Iron Fist and Spider-Man or even fighting the Hydra. Alternately adventurer or secret agent, Shang-Chi differs from other Marvel superheroes by having no superpowers. It is only his mastery of Chinese martial arts and chi that allows him to cope with the worst criminals and super-villains.
