What happens on the highway? Closed exit, column of smoke, emergency numbers…

Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning, a van caught fire on the E403 motorway in the Mouscron-Tournai direction in the ramp towards Templeuve. The firefighters intervened and the exit was closed during the intervention.

The driver of a van traveling in the Mouscron-Tournai direction was hot, very hot. Near Templeuve, he noticed that smoke was coming out of the back of his vehicle.

For his safety, he took the first exit available to him and stopped the vehicle which was catching fire.

Firefighters from the Wallonia Picardy rescue zone intervened on site and the exit was closed to traffic during the intervention.
