Comics inspired by current events are more and more numerous in bookstores. Example with “The endless world”, a comic written by Christopher Blain.

The endless world (Ed. Dargaud), by Christophe Blain and Jean-Marc Jancovici, is a comic strip on climate change. In this album, the author Christopher Blain draws his meeting with an expert who fights against global warming. The comic has already sold 150,000 copies. Christophe Blain did not completely abandon cowboys and superheroes, but he made characters out of them to explain the impact of fossil fuels on our lives. Like a journalist, or almost.

It’s not really a journalist’s job, because I leave with a very strong bias, and I put myself on stage. Not forward, but I use my character, including to make a lot of self-mockery, because I’m naive, I’m candid, naturally“, Explain Christopher Blain. Testimonials, reports on ecology, stories on the world of cinema… The news has really invaded the comic book shelves. “It’s a phenomenon insofar as it has above all made it possible to address a new audience”, analyzes Grégoire Seguin, who works for the Delcourt publishing house, which has been publishing comic strip reports for ten years.
