It is inevitable that there will be friction between husband and wife, and they need to communicate well, instead of being violent when they disagree. There is a wife surnamed Zhang in China who was asked by her husband surnamed Xu to have a second child, otherwise she would be hacked with a kitchen knife. Later, she couldn’t bear to ask for divorce, but she did not expect to be thrown acid, which caused an uproar.

According to comprehensive land media reports, Ms. Zhang refused her husband’s request to have a second child in June last year. The two had a dispute. During the dispute, she was threatened by her husband with a kitchen knife. Because the child was still breastfeeding, she worried that she would be abused again in the future, so she filed for divorce. But the husband disagreed. Therefore, she hired a lawyer to apply to the court for divorce, but due to unsuccessful payment of legal fees and other reasons, the court session failed as scheduled.

After half a year, Ms. Zhang filed for divorce again in January this year. Her husband called and told her he would come back for an interview, but he poured sulfuric acid on her face and head in the bathroom. Please hurry to the hospital for treatment.” It took 4 days for her to get better. The diagnosis certificate issued by the hospital showed that Ms. Zhang suffered multiple concentrated sulfuric acid burns on 11% of her body, ranging from 2nd to 3rd degrees, and her eyes and ears were burned.

Ms. Zhang continued to receive treatment in the hospital for about a month. Because of the deep burns on her face, there were scars near her eyes. The most serious thing was her left ear. After three operations, the ear was still bleeding. Now she has to wear auxiliary equipment. Otherwise, hearing will be a little problem. Afterwards, Ms. Zhang also applied for a protection order to avoid being attacked again.

Since Ms. Zhang is still recovering from treatment, the police first imposed administrative detention on Mr. Xu for 10 days and fined him 400 yuan (approximately NT$1,800) for the illegal act of deliberate injury. The case is under further investigation. In this regard, Ms. Zhang said that after the treatment period reaches about 3 months, the injury appraisal will be carried out, and the legal procedures will be carried out according to the results. She is optimistic: “We must take up the weapon of law, because the bad guys will always be punished.” .
