Win 2-1, Partenopei Remain Out

Naples beat Granada 2-1 in the second leg 32 big Europa League. Even so, these results were unable to bring Partenopei to qualify for the last 16, because they lost 2-3 on aggregate.

Playing at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Friday (26/2/2021) early morning WIB, Napoli, who lost 0-2 in the first leg, needed to score a fast goal. They managed to do this in the 3rd minute.

Starting from a counterattack, Piotr Zielinski, who received feedback from Lorenzo Insigne, dribbled from the middle of the field, and then fired a shot right in front of the penalty box which Granada goalkeeper Rui Silva failed to dammed. GOAL!

Behind one goal, Granada tried to respond. Jorge Molina fired a shot in the 5th minute, but was still sideways on the left side of the Napoli goal.

Naples back pressing. On the counterattack, Matteo Politano opened fire in the 7th minute, but failed to meet the target. Likewise with Insigne’s chance five minutes later.

GOAL! Granada equalized in the 25th minute. Receiving Dimitri Foulquier’s pass, Angel Montoro finished it with a header that beat Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret. The score is 1-1, Napoli must score three goals to qualify for the last 16.

Insigne again threatens the goal Granada in the 35th minute, but his free kick is anticipated by Rui Silva. 1-1 score lasted until the break.

In the second half, Naples who need another goal to attack. Politano’s long-range shot in the 49th minute bounced over the goal, while Eljif Elmas’ close-range shot in the 52nd minute was successfully blocked by Rui Silva.

GOAL! Napoli lead 2-1 in the 59th minute. A through ball from Insigne was successfully received by Fabian Ruiz in the Granada penalty box, and with one shot horizontally managed to break Rui Silva’s goal.

Naples the more aggressively targeting additional goals. Insigne had a chance in the 61st minute, but his shot was caught by Rui Silva. Dries Mertens’ header in the 68th minute also failed to get to the target.

Fabian Ruiz twice fired long-range shots in the 69th and 74th minutes, but both failed to produce goals. Likewise with a similar experiment from Zielinski in the 72nd minute.

Until the long whistle, no more goals were scored. Napoli won 2-1 in this match, however Granada who made it to the last 16 thanks to a 3-2 lead on aggregate.
