The security services were able to arrest (two people – residing at the Al-Adwa police station in Minya) and in their possession (a sum of money – 8 mobile phones – 5 mobile phone SIM cards with different numbers) for defrauding citizens and seizing their money by sending fake messages.
The content of the messages “Dear customer, your bank account has been suspended for not updating temporarily, please contact us” on their mobile phones claiming that they are customer service staff in banks for the purpose of obtaining their bank account and credit card data.
Exploiting this data to transfer their money to the accounts of one of the accused through an electronic payment service. Legal action has been taken.
