A 30-year-old woman was shot dead in a car in a parking lot in Netstal (GL) on the night of Friday to Saturday. The alleged perpetrator then surrendered to the police. The 27-year-old was arrested, cantonal police said.

The police assume a priori that it is a relational crime. Both the victim and the perpetrator of the shots had Tibetan roots, she said, without providing more details on the people involved.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the woman and the man were in a parking lot near the Bruggli retirement home before 1 a.m. For reasons that are not yet clear, several shots were fired, killing the woman in the car.

In custody

The alleged perpetrator then called the police and waited for officers at the scene, said a police spokesperson, interviewed by the Keystone-ATS news agency. The man allowed himself to be arrested without resistance. The murder weapon has been seized.

According to the spokesperson, the man was in police custody on Saturday. He was questioned about the homicide. The police did not give any information about his statements.
